image
“Introducing theBalm’s latest addition to the Nude series… Nude Dude! Get a quick look using any combination of these triple-milled shadows or dress up your look by adding water to transform your favorite shades into loyal liners. This total package includes 12 full-bodied shadows that can be worn alone or layered for added intensity, so go ahead and cover (or uncover) your eyes.”

theBalm makes some really nice quality powder products. I was so excited to try this palette. I’ve had my eye on the original and didn’t even know they came out with a second palette.

The palette comes in a nice slim cardboard-ish package! it reminds me a lot of the Lorac Pro palette packaging but it is a tad thicker and not rubberized. The mirror is a great size and I’ve found it is perfect for doing your makeup in. As you can see it comes with a little double ended brush. I think they should of just made the palette smaller and got rid of it. It’s a synthetic brush and isn’t something I would use.
Now onto the swatches: *note the website has very accurate swatches on light skin*

First Row:
  • Fearless: A creamy beige. It blends beautifully and is a tad lighter than on than in the pan. i thought this would be similar to Mac brule but I was pleasantly surprised it was lighter. (matte)
  • Flawless: A neutral light/medium brown. It has a bit of a yellow tone but it also is ashy. It’s a great blending shade. I’m really happy this palette was a good blending shade. A lot of palette tend to have medium and dark shades and as a light skin tone I love a light brown shade. (matte)
  • Firm: A neutral brown base with gold/beige shimmer. It’s almost like Flawless but the shimmer version. (shimmer)
  • Flirty: A light mauve purple with gold shimmer. This reminds me of a better version of Mac Trax! (shimmer)
  • Friendly: A darkened plum brown. I really enjoy this color, I love a dark plum. (matte)
  • Fierce: A olive based black with multi-shimmer. I would say this is more of a black, like most brands the multi/glitter/shimmer doesn’t really stick unless you’re using a sticky base! (shimmer)
Second Row:
  • Fabulous: A high shine white gold. Love Mac Nylon? Then you will love this shade. I’m obsessed with how it brightens my inner corner. (shimmer)
  • Faithful: A light peach with gold shimmer. My favorite shade in the palette! As you guys know Mac All that Glitters is my favorite eyeshadow shade. This is like the little sister of this shade. It’s right in the same family only a tad lighter peach base. (shimmer)
  • Fit: A medium peach base with golden shimmer and a hint of silver glitter. This entire palette has some great dupes for other brands. This reminds me of Urban Decay Chopper but not chuncky. The silver glitter doesn’t really show but regardless the base color is gorgeous. (shimmer)
  • Feisty: A mauvey pink. I’m surprised to say I love this shade. I know a pink shade, me? It has just the perfect hint of mauve to enhance the rosy tone of this shade. (matte)
  • Funny: A brown based burgundy with shimmer. My least favorite shade, I know what a shame! I wanted to love this shade, I love a good burgundy but this falls flat. In the pan it’s such a rich burgundy but as you blend it out it turns into a warm brown and the red/burgundy fades away. When worn on the lid I do get more burgundy, than in the crease blended. (shimmer)
  • Fine: A dark chocolate brown with a slight warm shimmer. (shimmer)
Overall I’m super impressed with this palette. The lighter shimmers shades are super shimmery, exactly what you would want. (Anyone who owns one of the highlighting powder knows what I mean.) While the darker shimmer shades are just a tad shimmery where you can tell but they also can blend out to look a bit more matte. The matte shades in this palette are very creamy. They aren’t chalky and I have minimal fall out with these product. My only downfall with this palette is that all the lighter shades are quite warm while the deeper/matte shades are a bit cool. While trying different looks the two medium shades (Flawless and Feisty) were a bit cool for the warm gold/beige shimmer of the lighter shades. The darker shades (Friendly, Fierce, Fine, Funny) had a cooler brown base to them as well. I do love this palette though. I think that it does have a good mix of warm, cool, matte, and shimmer. I know that at this moment in time I’m just obsessed with the very orangey warm crease look. Otherwise I don’t think that would even bother me.
  • Would you re-buy this product? Yes!
  • How many stars? 4.5 out of 5
  • Who would you recommend this product for? Anyone who is looking for a good neutral palette.
  • Overall thoughts? This is a great palette. The shadows are finely milled, not chalky, and not too much fall out. I really enjoy theBalm powder products. They do a really good job and now all I want is to get my hands on the Nude'tude palette! I think if you already own the original, getting this one would make a perfect traveling duo and give you amazing everyday looks.
  • Price? $36
  • Last Comments? I really enjoy this palette. I find that I reach for it a lot since I’ve got it. My favorite shades are: Fearless (I think I like this more than my classic MAC Blanc Type), Fabulous, Faithful, Flirty, Feisty, Firm, and Fierce.
Have you tried these lashes before? Thoughts?
These products were sent to me for review. My opinions/thoughts are completely honest! ♡
