Glossier Priming Moisturizer Review

image

“‘Priming’ means that it immediately brings out the best in your skin, so you have a fresh, glowing canvas for the Perfecting Skin Tint. Immediately on application, this plumps skin up with moisture to create cushiony bounce and an even texture, which helps minimize the appearance of pores, minus any heavy blurring ingredients. The anti-redness complex soothes and evens skin tone, leaving a clean, dewy, balanced finish. This comforting cream allows you to layer and build up to the perfect amount of moisture depending on climate, season, or how your skin’s feeling on any given day.”

With any Glossier product you get some beneficial ingredients. This contains Aloe (calming and vitamins), Hyaluronic Acid (an amazing hydrator), Shea Butter (Vitamins A/E), Tea and Honey Extract (hydrating and calms inflammation), Mushroom (adds moisture and plumps skin), Radish Root (Vitamin C), and an Oxygenating Agent (oxygen helps with dull skin, impurities, and skin texture without irritating the skin).
I’m fairly sure this is meant to be a moisturizer. The name ‘Priming Moisturizer’ is because when wearing makeup applying a moisturizer is the first thing you should do regardless if you will be wearing a traditional primer. I think if you had dry skin this would be a great moisturizer; 1-2 layers for extra benefits (as they state it’s build-able) and with oily skin 1 layer.
I’ve been using this product as a moisturizer day and night because of all the beneficial ingredients. It’s really amazing. It doesn’t break me out; my skin is plump, hydrated, and moisturized. I thought this would thicker but it’s not. When I first put it on my finger it feels thick but once I rub it into my skin 30-60 seconds later my skin has soaked it up. I’m not 100% sure if this will work in the warmer months for me. I tend to use really light-weight watery hydrators. My skin is combo in the winter and it’s not making me oily. I also have yet to suffer from dehydrated skin this winter. I’m prone to dehydration in the colder months and ridiculously oily skin the warmer. While using this product I haven’t had any dehydration. This is amazing for me because usually I have to do hydrating masks weekly in the winter with my everyday summer moisturizer.
  • Would you re-buy this product? Yes.
  • How many stars? 5 out of 5
  • Who would you recommend this product for? All skin types could benefit from the amazing ingredients. If you had truly oily skin it might be heavy so I would use this as a night cream and something light-weight during the day.
  • Price? $25 | 1.7 fl oz.
  • Last Comments? Glossier does a fantastic job of having products that are good for your skin. Since using this my skin is in tip top shape and I find my foundation is applying better. I do find my skin is less red after using this product. it’s not going to get rid of your redness completely but I can tell my face is more calm. It isn’t clogging my pores either.
The winter months can be harsh on all skin types and this product does a great job of keeping my skin plump. During the warmer months I’ll test it out during the day and see how it works, possibly switching it to a night cream if it’s too heavy.
