GlamGlow PowerMud DualCleanse Review

"A mud-to-oil, gentle, deep cleansing treatment that removes the weekly buildup of dirt, oil, and makeup." (not my photo)

On Sephora’s website the GlamGlow PowerMud DualCleanse is described as above. As you can see from the photo it’s a sheer gel consistency grey ‘mud’. The directions say to apply a thin layer. Right off the bat I was amazed with how it felt. It was very lightweight, like a gel moisturizer, and it dried almost instantly. As I looked in the mirror is when I noticed the product had little (black) exfoliating balls. It was nothing major I think I had a total of 5-6 on my entire face.

After applying it I immediately went into my sisters room. She couldn’t even tell I had anything on, “it just looks like you powdered your face”. I think if I really packed it on or was a deeper skin tone maybe you could of seen it. Nevertheless as she said it just made my face look matte. My favorite part of the mask? Because it was so lightweight you didn’t get that tight feeling. You know when you do a clay mask and it has dried….. So you start talking and it falls apart, it’s hard to scrunch your nose, or you can’t really move your mouth. You didn’t get this feeling with this mask, it felt great. Now when I removed the mask is when I was less than impressed.

"It features OILIXER™, which is a custom blended complex of four powerful, rare, non-greasy, and fast-absorbing deep cleansing oils. CLAYTOX™ is a carefully balanced four-clay blend specifically developed to provide an ultragentle skin detoxification for a maximum yet delicate cleanse. And PUREIFIER™ is a complex mix of cleansers, astringents, and exfoliators, working in synergy to dramatically purify and condition the skin."

After waiting the designated 10 minutes I went and washed my face. As I wet my face I imagined I would get the “mud to oil” feeling but I didn’t. Instead it felt like a gel rubbing on my face. The product didn’t lather but it felt like when I first applied; Again I didn’t feel the exfoliating beads on my face. As it is described I definitely think it is a gentle cleanse. My face didn’t fee; ‘squeaky’ clean after it just felt nice. My face was a tad softer and a tad smoother. I used it again a few days later an experienced the same results. (Note: I didn’t receive any break-outs following the mask.)Honestly I don’t think for my skin it’s that much of a deep cleanse. The entire time I was using the product I thought my sister would loooooove this! She doesn’t exfoliate ever because her skin is dry and sensitive. Most exfoliating product burn and are too rough for her. But I think this would work great for her. It’s exfoliating enough, won’t give her a ‘dry’ feeling afterwards, and is gentle enough that it won’t irritate her skin.
Would you re-buy this product? No.
How many stars? 1 out of 5 (for my skin)
Who would you recommend this product for? Someone with dry and/or sensitive skin.
Price? $69 for 1.7 oz
Last Comments? I think the biggest let down was the lack of the ‘mud-to-oil’ feeling.
Have you tried it? Thoughts?
